[Watch Video] Keeping My Man: New movie by Rukky Sanda

I'm not really sure what Ms Sanda had in mind when she sat down to write, direct and produce this movie, but the result surely won't sound off with the audiences the way she expected.

Three couples are having marital problems that stem from cheating, homosexuality and lust in general and in no particular order. Then the shouting, the physical violence and the graphic love scenes hammer the last nail in the coffin of this skin spinoff of Tyler Perry's Why Did I get Married.

When a single mind takes up all the creative tasks in the conception of an artistic piece of work from screenwriting, to directing to producing, the oxygen supply is cut off. And the movie misses out on the chance to come to life and entertain the audiences. Had other people had the chance to chime in, they would surely had brought to the table the issues mentioned above and give this piece a chance.

The raw skin encounters are a complete turnoff. Of course, highjacking all the creativity serves the purpose of keeping all the money to oneself once the cash starts pouring in and retaining full artistic control. But something, just something tells me that Ms Sanda won't be laughing all the way to the bank on this one. Just a hunch.
