Kenyans Don’t Respect Me…Victoria Kimani
Choc City singer, Victoria Kimani, has explained why she has chosen to spend more of her time in Nigeria than her home country Kenya.
The singer disclosed that she has gotten a lot of negativity from her Kenyan fans who have criticized her for neglecting her country and relocating to Nigeria to do music but stressed that she will not be moved by what they say.
She stressed that despite growing up in Nigeria as a teenager with her missionary parents in Benin, Nigeria gave her the opportunity of elevating her career when she got the offer from Chocolate City record label in 2012.
She explained that she had struggled all alone while in Kenya to get her music out there but things were not that smooth for her until the Choc City contract came up.
In her words, “The masses in Kenya may never truly respect what I have decided to do with my life, but they will dance to my music. Anyway, enough of my rant, let's stop the hate and embrace love. We are all Africans.”
