"I'm Not Wearing Makeup From July 4th Till December" - Uriel Declares, Issues Disclaimer To Makeup Brands
Big Brother Naija star, Uriel Oputa, has revealed her decision to stop wearing makeup from July 4th till December.
The former reality star via her Instagram page, stated that she has decided against makeup from July till December, revealing that no matter the event, she would still attend without makeup.
Explaining her reason, she revealed that she wants her skin to breathe, as she wants to use the period to take care of it.
Issuing a disclaimer to makeup brands, she stated that she's still open to working with them, but once she's done with the shoot, she won't be leaving the venue with makeup on her face.
She wrote:
"From the 4th of July till December. I've decided: no makeup.
Whether it's a red carpet, private dinner, TV appearance, or just stepping out in public - I'll be doing it all with bare skin.
Why?
Because I want my skin to breathe, and I really want to use this period to work on my skin.
I want it to be even more amazing than it already is.
So, from July till December:
Lashes? Yes.
Lip gloss? Yes - clear or natural colours only.
low key I want to see how confident I truly am.
"Disclaimer for makeup brands:
Yes, I'm still 100% open to working with makeup brands.
If there's a shoot, campaign, or collaboration, I'll absolutely wear makeup for it - but I will not be leaving the venue with makeup on my face.
Once the shoot is done, it's done. I won't be wearing makeup to go out after.
I'll still promote, post, and create beautiful content. But this personal challenge remains firm: outside of required work, no makeup till December.
Why am I doing this?
1. I want to test my confidence level.
I've always felt like I had to wear full glam for events. But now, I want to see how confident I truly am when it's just me no filter, no glam, just skin.
2. I've worked hard on my skin.
Since 2017, I've put so much effort into improving my texture, tone, and glow. It's time to let that work speak for itself.
3. I want my skin to breathe.
After years of makeup, long hours on set, and constant wipes and reapplication, my skin deserves a break.
4. I want to nourish my skin for the next six months.
This is a reset - more hydration, more facials, more natural glow. I want to feed my skin from the inside out.
5. Because everyone's starting to look the same.
This isn't shade, but in a world of identical glam and heavy filters, I want to stand out - by being real.
6. Because true confidence isn't built in front of a mirror it's tested in real life.
I want to prove to myself that I don't need makeup to feel beautiful, seen, or relevant."
