Adeyinka Alaseyori Appeals To Nigerians For Forgiveness Over Oyo Abduction Remarks

By Oluwarantimi Oludase

Popular Nigerian gospel singer Adeyinka Alaseyori has tendered an unreserved apology to Nigerians over her recent comments on the recent state of insecurity, particularly the Oyo abductions.

Recall that The Nigerian Voice reported on Tuesday, June 2nd, that Alaseyori during a live video asserted that the importance of prayers cannot be overemphasized amid the insecurity crisis and poor state of the economy.

She noted that the president may have ordered the armed forces to scan through forests to fish out the terrorists, yet they may be unable to locate them. She maintained that prayers will aid the efforts of the government.

Yinka's comment did not sit down well with many netizens as numerous criticisms have trailed her comments, including condescending remarks.

Addressing the backlash she has faced, the singer released a video broadcast where she noted how her comments generated several ruckus online and made people see her in the wrong light.

She apologized to everyone angry about her comment, urging them to forgive her, explaining comments were wrongly misinterpreted.

She said:

"I did a video two days ago about the kidnapped children, touching on the government, parastatals, and every agency. But when I woke up yesterday, I found out that some well-meaning Nigerians were not happy about it, as I made them feel their voices are unheard."

You know me too well that I would never make you feel like that. Mothers, do not be offended. I am sorry. I beg in God’s name. Please, forgive me. I would never think like that. Pardon and forgive me."
