Actor Kunle Remi Expresses Concern Over Insecurity Amid Election Campaigns
Nollywood actor Kunle Remi has expressed concern over the high rate of insecurity in the country, pointing out how election campaigns are ongoing.
Recall that social media has been on fire following the news of the abductions of some students, parents and teacher in Oyo state.
The tragic incident was further compounded by the gruesome slaughter of a Mathematics teacher in Oyo State, identified as Michael Oyedokun.
The actor who had previously voiced his frustration at the government, shared another post to share his concern with those who are being affected by the insecurity plaguing Nigeria.
He further stressed that amid all these, election campaigns and preparations are actively ongoing with no empathy and plan to address those affected.
Kunle Remi also slammed blogs for constantly amplifying the election, while praying that Nigerians don't become used to tragedy.
He wrote:
“As I settle in for the night, I can’t help but think. As you go to bed tonight, remember children are sleeping in the forests… imagine the cold, the bugs, the fear, the discomfort. Remember, a mother is holding her baby helplessly. Parents praying for safety. Schools living in fear
And somehow, in the middle of all this, election campaigns and preparations continue. Bloggers are posting about the election like everything is normal. May we never become so used to tragedy that we stop feeling it."
