Drake Postpones Multiple Concerts Over Ankle Injury
Canadian rapper, Drake has been compelled to postpone his three upcoming shows on the Summer Sixteen Tour with fellow colleague, Future after suffering an ankle injury.
However, Sunday night’s show in Toronto has been postponed, LiveNation confirmed, but the Saturday night show will go on as scheduled.
A new date for Sunday’s show is yet to be announced and Ticket-holders will receive an email with information on next steps and refunds, Live Nation said.
“I am crushed to even be typing this announcement because I feel like I am letting my fans in these cities down,” the rapper wrote on his label’s blog.
Drake said affected cities include his hometown of Toronto, as well as Philadelphia. He will perform one of two scheduled shows in Newark.
“I hate to be told I can’t do something,” he wrote. “But under doctor’s orders to allow me to recuperate, I am being forced to postpone the intense three shows in a row, in cities which have only ever shown me unconditional support.”
