"If Nigeria Was Better, No One Would Want To Leave" - Simi Reveals
Nigerian singer, Simisola Kosoko, popularly known as Simi, has shared her observation about Nigeria, and the reason for the increase in relocation among the citizens.
The wife of singer Adekunle Gold, during a recent episode of the 90s Baby Show, Simi expressed her love for Nigeria, particularly the spirit of Nigerians, stating that no one can replicate it.
She also cited how the Hollywood industry are unable to fake Nigerian accent, but instead fake other countries accent.
Emphasizing her stance, she stressed that being a Nigeria feels like home, noting that if the country was better, many people would not want to relocate.
She said:
“My favourite thing about Nigeria is just the spirit of Nigerians. You can’t replicate it.
“Nobody else can be a Nigerian other than a Nigerian. Even when they are faking African accents in Hollywood movies, they never actually fake a Nigerian accent.
“They always fake East Africa and South African accents. Being a Nigerian doesn’t just come as naturally, it just feels like home.
That is why I wish the country was better. Because I feel like no one would want to leave.”
