How Lyta Lost Huge Opportunity

By Agboola Ibrahim

Babatunde Rahim, known professionally as Lyta is a Nigerian singer. He signed a record deal with YBNL Nation in 2018 but left the label in May 2019 after having a disagreement with the label owner Olamide. He released a 5-track debut EP Id in 2019.

In a recent chat with HipTV, Lyta spoke about how he exited the label for the good of his music career. Although after his exit he was signed by Marlian Nation yet he regretted leaving the YBNL family afterwards.

To deduce from his narration, his greatest mistake was the influence of the noises he allowed around him; noises from people who were clamouring for his exit from YBNL so that they could sign him to their own label.

Moreover, he ended up listening to them and his father sent him to terminate the contract with YBNL saying that he got a better label.

"I told my dad what his (Olamide) reply was and he said alright just tell him that someone want to sponsor your music career."

Getting the request of Lyta's quit, Olamide delightedly granted his wish.

"regarding what my dad said, his reply was "if that's the best for you I wish you good luck...

and I was confused about his reply. I didn't know what to say so I said thank you sir.

as time goes on fans started blasting me saying I no longer do music, all I do is change hairstyles.

at this moment I don't know what to do, am just depressed"
