On Sunday, many turned out for the prestigious City People Awards, organised by the publishers of City People magazine.

At the event, which was held in Lagos, a popular Yoruba actress, Tayo Sobola, emerged as the 'Best New Actress of the year'.

But it seems the Tayo is not happy being addressed as a new actress.

She did not hide her displeasure for being tagged a new actress. According to her, "It's quite funny when you look back and see the same people has been addressing you as an actress in years and suddenly you are new.

"Only City People understands their criteria for nominating and awarding. All the same, no be how far but na how well! Thanks everyone."

However, some people have asked if Tayo Sobola is actually popular in core Nollywood or just in the Yoruba movie industry.
