Will 9ice's Another Double Album Become A Hit After First Double Album Flop?

Gongo Aso lyricist, Alexander Abolore Adegbola Adigun Alapomeji Ajifolajifaola aka 9ice, may have decided to let his past go as he has tried in all forms to revive his career by shooting videos of some of his past songs just keep his fans' memories fresh.

9ice was first in a group called Mysterious Boys with whom he did a couple of tracks before going on to form his own, but now defunct Abinibi group. Having recorded his first demo entitled Risi De Alagbaja in 1996 and his first solo song, Little Money in 2000, 9ice had to wait till 2005 before himself and his music started gaining recognition in the Nigerian music market.

The first major break for 9ice came from his first single title Little Money and after then, he did collaborations with different Nigerian artistes that immediately prompted the release of another hit single title Ganja Man. ID Cabasa produced 'Ganja Man' which was released with other songs in March 2006. The reggae tone and playful style of the song made it an instant hit. He later founded his own record company and released all other albums under his label Alapomeji Records.

At the March 2008 edition of the Hip Hop World Awards held in Nigeria, 9ice won the Revelation of the Year award and the Best Male Vocal Performer. He later got nominated in the category of Best New Artiste for the first SoundCity Music Video Awards, 9ice's biggest single is titled "Gongo Aso"

Recall that in year 2012, 9ice released a double album which did not record huge sales and acceptance. The Alapomeji boss did not just go to bed as he may have been asking questions and taking advice from people on what to do next. The answers he got may actually be paying off as he has now released another double album titled 'G.R.A' and 'C.N.N.'

According to him, “C.N.N stands for 'Cancelling Numerous Negativity' while 'G.R.A means 'Galvanizing Right Ahead'. Both albums contain eight tracks each, making a total of 16 songs. The albums feature the likes of Olamide, Oritse Femi, Flavour and Phyno.

With these two recent albums, 9ice's album discography increases to a total of seven studio albums. He recently re-released his first and third albums 'Certificate' and 'Tradition.' The question now begging for answer is if 9ice's new double album will launch him back into limelight or not.
