Buhari Killed Fela---Eedris Abdulkareem (video)

The just-concluded Felabration, an event put together to celebrate late Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, may have come and gone, but memories of the show linger on.

Lots of entertainers graced the occasion, including Iyanya, Majek Faskek, Burna Boy, Reminisce, Ben 7 and a host of others. Also, there were highlights from Felabration and one of them was a statement credited to controversial rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem.

Eedris accused President Muhammadu Buhari of killing Fela.

Though he did not specify how Buhari was responsible for Fela's death, but he claimed that "in 1976, na Buhari kill Fela (and) na the same old people dey rule us."

Fela passed away in 1997. During his lifetime, the musician was arrested and imprisoned for many times for his attack of governments through his songs.

In 1984, when the present President was the then Head of State, Fela was sentenced after he was found guilty of being in possession of foreign currencies, which was then against the law. The late musician only spent a year in prison because he was pardoned by then Buhari's successor, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida.
