Yesterday, the media fraternity in Nigeria was thrown into a sad mood as the Lagos head office of one of its own, Independent
Communications Network Limited, publishers of PM News evening tabloid and The News magazine, was gutted by fire. It took the efforts of fire fighters to put off the fire.

The inferno damaged some properties worth millions of naira. The fire, which started at about 6.30pm, was reported to have been caused by a power surge after the public power supply was restored. However, only the last floor of the two-storey building office of the media house located on Acme Road, Ogba, Lagos was affected by the fire. No life was lost to the inferno.
