Motherhood Changed Everything For Me – Debbie Shokoya
Nollywood actress Debbie Shokoya has opened up about how motherhood transformed her life for the better.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, she expressed gratitude to God, saying that no amount of praise could fully capture His goodness.
The Yoruba actress shared that she treats every day like her own celebration and is committed to personal growth through constant learning and unlearning. She also emphasized her choice to remain authentic despite living in a world filled with falsehood and noise.
Shokoya acknowledged that not everyone will appreciate her boldness or honesty, but she has decided to stop seeking validation from others. She now focuses her energy only on things that truly matter.
She wrote:
"My best life started after motherhood! I Am Grateful For The Blessings. A thousand tongues are not enough to glorify the name of the lord.
"Oluwa, Ajijola N Dupe. Welcome to my birth month!! July 19th Born. Every day is actually my birthday! I choose to learn, unlearn and relearn every day! I choose being true to myself in a world full of noise and false truths! I choose to stay real in an environment flooded with inauthenticity! My resilience leaves me wondering what manner of being I am!
"I have come to realise that not everyone would like me, stand my guts, admire my boldness, and embrace my honesty! And I have stopped, or maybe am working to stop, caring about it and focus squarely only on things that truly matter and require my reactions."
