Award-winning Nollywood actress Linda Ejiofor, has opened up on her mindset for three years, before her success at the 12th African Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA).

Linda Ejiofor made the revelation while speaking in an interview with Nollywire conducted by her husband, actor Ibrahim Suleiman. According to the actress, she believed that she was in a particular phase in her career three years ago, which made her go back to her Maker in prayers.

She revealed that after prayers, God gave her two stories that changed the trajectory of her career instantly, and propelled her for her eventual win at the AMVCA.

Expressing gratitude to God, Ejiofor also credited her husband, Ibrahim for constantly motivating her throughout the entire period of doubt, admitting that she mostly doubted his acknowledgement of his praises.

She said:
"Three years ago, I thought my career was stagnant and not going anywhere, and I asked God for something, anything. And He gave me two beautiful stories.

"I am so grateful to God, grateful to my husband because he stood by me through this. He told me that I did well in both movies. To be honest, I didn’t believe him."

Recall that the AMVCA, which is organized to honour the creativity of African movies, had its 12th edition on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos.

Actress Linda Ejiofor clinched the award for the Best Lead Actress for The Serpent’s Gift and Best Supporting Actress for The Herd on the same night.
