A Nigerian Veteran Nollywood actress, veteran musician, fashion designer, gospel singer, and actress, Patience Ozokwor also known as Mama G has disclosed why she has chosen to remain single since 2002 after the death of her husband.

Patience Ozokwor is marked as one of those women who had early marriage, particularly, at the age of 19. Patience eventually became a widow relatively soon afterwards in 2002.

However, during conversation with Mercy Johnson in Mercy Menu, Actress Patience disclosed how her children compelled her to keep herself from remarrying after the death of her husband.

She disclosed that her children who were already grown-ups proposed to her to remain single in order that they would not be the object of mockery in the society.

She further added that, she willed to have another husband but her children's plea was strong enough and finally halted the desire to remarry.

In her words, “I wanted to remarry but my kids had already come of age and they pleaded with me not to marry another man and they promised they will be my husband. They asked me to stay single for them so their friends will not laugh at them that at their age their mum remarried and I understood them, though it was selfish of them I paid a huge sacrifice for them, no sacrifice is too huge for the family.”
