Popular Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage, has made a revelation about her ex-label boss, Don Jazzy.

In a recent interview with TVC, the self-acclaimed Afrobeats Queen revealed that upon her relocation to Nigeria in 2012, she was solely an R&B artiste before transitioning to Afrobeats after joining MAVIN records.

Speaking about her transition journey, Savage shared that Don Jazzy was pivotal to her not-so-easy transitioning to Afrobeats. She revealed that he made her believe in herself and her talent, affirming to her about the unlimited nature of talent.

The mother of Jamil Balogun further added that since her transition into the Afrobeats genre from R&B, she in no way regrets the decision.

She said:
"It was difficult for me to transition from R&B to street sounds. But when I was at Mavin Records, Don Jazzy opened my mind to so many different things. He made me believe that talent was not limited, that I could do anything if I really focused on it

He took me out of that R&B bubble and introduced me to other sounds."

Recall that Tiwa Savage's career began abroad, where she played the role of backup singers for renowned artists such as George Michael and Mary J, before she relocated to Nigeria to join MAVIN records.
