"Music Was Not Meant To Be Compared" - Pheelz Bemoans Comparison Of Songs
Nigerian record-producer, singer and songwriter, Phillip Kayode, professionally known as Pheelz, has bemoaned the increasing rate of comparison of songs in the music industry.
The singer, via the popular microblogging platform, noted that music was originally meant to be enjoyed, and not to be compared in any way. He, however, stressed that comparison of songs is now the order of the day, and is doing more harm to the music culture.
He wrote:
"Music was meant to be enjoyed, not to be compared. This comparison game is hurting the sound and culture more than we can ever know."
Pheelz's claim about comparison of music can be attributed to the series of music bants made among the fans of the Big 3 in no particular order: Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy. The duo fans pit the respective singers songs against each other, and begin to make numerous comparisons. The comparison is also done against other artistes in the music industry.
