"Don't Bath Babies Daily, Wipe Them Instead" - Toke Makinwa Advises Nursing Mothers
Popular media personality and actress, Toke Makinwa, has aired her view on mothers bathing their newborn babies daily.
The media personality in a viral video broadcast message on her Instagram page, described the act as wrong, stating that mothers should desist from it.
According to her, babies are not dirty, stating that the womb they stayed in for nine months isn't dirty, and as such putting excessive water on their skin daily is not advisable.
Proffering a solution, she urged nursing mothers to wipe their babies instead of bathing them daily.
She said:
"I really think bathing babies actually causes problems. Babies are not dirty. They have been inside the womb for nine months. Inside the womb is not dirty.
“I don’t bathe my baby every day because it is not necessary. Babies are not on the floor; they are not dirty or sweaty. So, why are you excessively putting water on their skin? Their skin is fragile. You can wipe them instead of bathing them every day. This helped me, so I’m just putting it out there."
The Nigerian Voice recalls that Toke Makinwa took to her Instagram page in the early hours of Thursday, August 28, to announce that she is now a mother, stating that she is happy.
She further appreciated her maker, thanking Him for providing her miracle for her, whom she revealed as Yakira Eliana, Olakitan, lyanuoluwa, Ikeoluwa, Adunola.
