"I'm An Advocate Of Egg Freezing Now" - Tiwa Savage Tells Women
Popular Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage, has revealed that she is now an advocate of egg freezing in women.
The self-acclaimed Queen of Afrobeats, while speaking in a recent interview with Zeze Mills, stated that she had her first child in her 30s, and she was financially and emotionally stable, noting that women in their 30s should consider freezing their eggs even if they have given birth or not, “Having my first child in my 30s was beautiful because I was more financially and emotionally stable. One advice I will give to women in their 30s is – whether you wanna have children or not, "egg freeze," she said.
Sharing her regrets, she stated that she wished she had frozen her eggs earlier, stating that she is unsure if she wants more kids, but freezing her eggs has given her insurance that she can easily give birth later, “I wish I did it earlier. But I’ve done it now. I don’t know if I want more kids but in case I do, I’ve done that [frozen my eggs] just to have that insurance," she said.
Expressing her fears and uncertainty, the mother of one explained that she is unaware of the number of eggs that women have, stating that whenever the woman decides to have kids, the eggs might be gone, urging women to prioritize egg freezing, "Because I don’t know if we are born with a certain amount of egg reserves, you could wake up at 36 and your egg reserve is gone. And then that’s when you now decide that you want to have kids. So, I’m really a big advocate for egg freezing now, she added."
