Eedris Abdulkareem Reveals Inspiration Behind Newly Banned Song
Legendary Nigerian rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem, has revealed the inspiration behind his newly banned song 'Tell your papa'.
Recall that the Nigerian Voice reported last Thursday, that the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has barred Nigerian radio and television stations from airing the trending song titled "Tell Your Papa" by veteran rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem.
The federal regulating agency cited "objectionable nature" of the song for the ban.
The rapper, who was recently on ‘Rubbin’ Minds’, a programme on Channels Television on Sunday, disclosed that his song was not aimed at attacking Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Tinubu.
He noted that his song was a response to a statement made by Seyi, who described his father as Nigeria’s best-ever president.
Eedris Abdulkareem said:
"Nigerian youths are just asking for basics: electricity, security, enabling economic environment, job creation and not palliatives.
So, why should I attack Seyi Tinubu personally? If Seyi Tinubu never talked about it, I wouldn’t have recorded a song like that. So, I am replying to the video that he made. If he had kept quiet, I wouldn’t have said anything. I am inspired by Seyi Tinubu to record that song."
