I Don't Have A Father Who Cared How I Wanted It - Kiitan Bukola
Nigerian actress, Kiitan Bukola, has revealed her experience of not growing up with fatherly love.
The actress made this revelation during a recent episode of ‘Talk to B’ podcast, she stated that she did not have a father who cared how she wanted it.
Explaining further, she revealed that she did not live with her parents, and she does not know some of her father's children due to their large number.
Speaking on marriage, she noted that she loves marriage, but scared of it at the same time. She stated that she does not want her children to suffer the same fate of growing up without fatherly care.
She said:
"I don’t have a father who cared how I wanted it. Like, I didn’t enjoy the love of father to mother together. So, it hurts me a lot.
“I never lived together with my parents. The funny thing is that I don’t know some of my father’s children because we are close to fourteen.
“I have friends who have been through a lot in their marriages. And I have some that have enjoyed it. I don’t want to have children out of wedlock. I want my children to experience fatherly care.
"I love marriage, but I’m scared of it at the same time, I don’t want my children to grow up without fatherly care, or in a separate home. My ideal man is very understanding and prayerful. I don’t want stress. I want to let someone I can call my best friend. Someone that will understand the difference between my job and our home.
“Because I once dated someone who would tell me to return money for a job on a day I’m supposed to go to set.”
