Controversial singer, Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington or Akpi, has finally been granted bail from prison by the court.

The Nigerian Voice recalls that Deji Adeyanju announced via his Facebook page some weeks ago that "Our client Speed Darlington, a.k.a AKPI has been arrested by the Nigeria police in Owerri at his show upon return to Nigeria."

Deji Adeyanju has been clamouring on social media for the release of his client since his arrest by the Nigeria police force, but to no avail.

In a new development today, Speed Darlington's counsel, Stanley Alieke announced that his client has been granted bail by the court.

He wrote on Instagram:
“Apki has been granted bail by the court."
