By Oluwarantimi Oludase

Controversial self-acclaimed activist Martins Otse, best known as VeryDarkMan has apologized to Femi Falana, SAN, over his allegations against him.

The Nigerian Voice recalls that VeryDarkMan released an audio recording of cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky. The recording alleged that Bobrisky paid the sum of 15 million Naira to officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for the money laundering charges to be dropped against him.

The recording further suggested that Bobrisky did not spend his six-months prison term in prison, but in an apartment close to the prison through the influence of his godfather and the controller general of prison.

The leaked recording by VeryDarkMan also alleged that Falz and his father, Femi Falana, SAN, collected the sum of 10 million Naira to get Bobrisky a soft landing on his prison sentence and also get him a presidential pardon.

In the wake of the accusations, Falz and his father Femi Falana, SAN, through their legal representative warned VeryDarkMan to retract his statement within 24 hours, while threatening to sue him for defamation.

VeryDarkMan, appearing before the House of Representatives Joint Committee on Financial Crimes and Reformatory Institutions on Monday apologized for his allegations against Femi Falana, SAN.

He admitted that he had no bad intention while interpreting the audio recording of Bobrisky. He noted that many people are now using his accusations to judge Femi Falana which was not his intention.

He said:
“Apparently now, some people are taking advantage of what is going to target Femi Falana.

"Here, I apologise. It’s so sad that his name was inside that audio. I couldn’t believe it as well; that is the part that irritated me more, which I said I refuse to believe that he is a party to something like that.”
