The controversy surrounding one of the Nollywood actors, Junior Pope, has finally been confirmed.

The actor who was initially involved in a boat accident on Wednesday, 10th April, was immediately announced dead by the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) president, Emeka Rollas. Surprisingly, around the evening of the same day, the president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria retracted his earlier statement and revealed that Junior Pope was alive, much to the excitement of many Nigerians.

Unfortunately, Emeka Rollas has now come out to clarify his claims that Junior Pope was alive, and stated that the actor is confirmed dead, as it was over excitement at the fact that Junior Pope was moving his fingers that made him announce that the actor was alive.

Emeka Rollas further revealed that the actor was taken to two hospitals who tried everything in their power to see to his resuscitation, all to no avail.

The president further disclosed that only the body of Junior Pope and an actor, Mr Friday, Emeka have been found, while there are still about 3 corpses who are yet to be seen.

Emeka Rollas wrote;
"Its so so sad that our joy was shortlived. My first post was out of excitement when we noticed his tingling fingers. Two notable hospitals tried their best to revive him but to no avail. God knows the best.”
