‎Popular Nigerian businessman, Emeka Okonkwo, best known as E-Money, has urged Nigerians to respect the Naira currency, following his arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

‎The Nigerian Voice recalls that E-Money was reportedly arrested by the officials of the EFCC on Monday night, April 25th, at his residence in the Omole Area of Lagos.

‎Taking to his Instagram page days after his arrest, E-Money stated that the EFCC is reminding Nigerians that spraying Naira or any currency at parties is against the law. He advised Nigerians to celebrate responsibly; avoid fines, and respect our currency.

‎E-Money wrote:
‎"Attention! The EFCC reminds us that spraying Naira (or any currency) at parties or events is against the law! Let’s celebrate responsibly and avoid fines. Respect our currency!

‎If you must give money at a party, make sure you put it in a basket, bowl, or box in front of the person at the party. Don’t drop any currency on the floor. The EFCC advises this. Ignorance is not going to be an excuse. Let us be aware and abide by the rules since it’s the law of the land."
