Patrick Doyle Lambasts Members Of Chosen Church
The controversy surrounding The Lord's Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries' church over the phrase has been further emphasized on by actor Patrick Doyle.
Recall that the Lord's Chosen church members became trending over their testimonies, which many believe to be false, and eventually birthed the "I am a chosen" phrase all over social media.
Reacting to the phrase, veteran actor Patrick Doyle argued that the members of the church are not worshipping God by using the "Chosen" phrase, but are instead worshiping thrir general overseer.
According to him, the phrase should never be termed religious or used in relation to Christianity, as it is not giving glory to God.
Patrick Doyle wrote on Facebook:
"The phrase ‘I am a Chosen,’ used by members of the religious sect called ‘Chosen,’ should never be connected to the Body of Christ.
“The members of this sect don’t have Jesus in mind when chanting the phrase. Their adoration is unequivocally directed at a man, their GO. The phrase does not mention or imply Jesus in any way.
“To infer that the nonsensical phrase is connected to giving glory to the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, is to make a mockery of our faith.
Content creators and bloggers using the phrase are not mocking the Church of God but the sect and its founder.”
