D'banj’s Album Is Far From Excellent– Daniel Regha

By Oluwarantimi Oludase

Popular controversial social media critic, Daniel Regha, has made his thoughts known on D'banj's new album “The Entertainer."

The Nigerian Voice recalls that D'banj announced on his Instagram page of his reconciliation with his former Mo’Hits record label member, Don Jazzy after their fallout many years ago and he would be featured in one of the songs in the album.

D'banj' explained that his new album “The Entertainer” is a follow up to his 2008 ‘The Entertainer’ album, which includes remixes of popular songs like ‘Fall in Love’, ‘Feli Feli’, ‘Igwe’ and ‘Suddenly.”

Since the release of the album on August 16th, Daniel Regha, has labelled the album as not being impressive enough to grab the attention of new listeners or a wider audience.

Regha wrote that the song is one-themed, which makes every song in the album similar.

He wrote on X:
“D'banj's new project "The Entertainer, D'Sequel" will gain momentum cos of his level of stardom, but the album is far from excellent. Asides old fans, songs off the album aren't impressive enough grab the attention of new listeners or appeal to a wider audience (sadly), & for good reasons. The entire album is one-themed making songs kinda repetitive, then there's the issue of noisy beats like the harmonica sound/tune played in "Worthy". In terms of lyricism D'bang focused more on his flow while fai!ing to push his pen lyrically. That said, "Melody" is catchy, & Akon seems to have imitated Westlife's "Flying Without Wings" in "KOKO remix". "Serious" was a m!ss, & Wyclef added substance to the track "I Am Legend". It's a close 4/10. No offense."
