Federal Government Warns Against Releasing Movies And Videos Without NFVCB Classification
The Federal Government of Nigeria in conjunction with The National Films and Videos Censors Board, NFVCB, has sounded a note of warning to movie producers, skit makers and others on getting classification before releasing anything to the public.
The decision of the NFVCB was elaborated on by the Director General, Shaibu Husseini, who stated that the decision was made to curtail what the public watch in order to promote values and to achieve that music videos, skits and movies have to get classifications before being out online.
The NFVCB further warned against the promotion of sex related contents, as it has now been deemed a punishable offense by the law.
He said;
“It is also an offence to distribute or exhibit any film or video content, musical videos and skits on any platform without recourse to the National Film and Video Censors Board for classification.
“We are collaborating with relevant security agencies to track any individuals and production companies involved to make sure they face the full wrath of the law.”
