Popular Nigerian female singer, Yemi Eberechi Alade, best known as Yemi Alade, has disclosed the reason for her lack of awards in the music industry.

The “Johnny" crooner, who is very influential and popular in Africa to the extent that she performed at the opening ceremony of the 2023 African Cup of Nations earlier this year, revealed that the men in the industry were responsible for her not winning any awards.

The singer further revealed that at the beginning of her career, many men in the industry made advances at her, which she bluntly declined and this has led to her being cancelled from every awards which she is supposed to win.

Many Netizens have stood with the singer by praising her for her stance, while some have downplayed her music and labelled it as unworthy of an award.
