Ayra Starr Suffered Chronic Tension In Her First Time In The Studio With Wizkid, Afrobeat Legend

Popular Nigerian singer, Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe better known as Ayra Starr in a recent statement recounted one of her terrific moments in her music career.

She described the moment in the studio with Grammy award winner Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun professionally known as Wizkid as being coloured with mixed feelings.

During an interview with Chito and CYD on Kenyan Radio Station, KissFM, The Rush crooner who featured on Wizkid hit song, 2 Sugar on the album “MLLE” disclosed how crazy she felt being in the studio with the Africa best Afrobeat singer.

When the interviewer asked Ayra Starr, “how was that feeling you know being in the studio with a legend like Wiz who has done so much for Afrobeat’s in Nigeria and Africa?” she revealed that her feelings was characterized by chronic tension and anxiety the first time she was left in the studio with Wizkid. She also added that her heart was beating so fast as she did not know what to sing.

She added that Wizkid already had the whole song and she only did the hook of the song and it all started when she was doing freestyling and he later told her to enter to studio and she later did everything in one take.

Ayra Starr said, “My heart was beating so fast, what if I don’t know what to sing , I don’t know what to do, you know sometimes you get to the studio and like nothing is there. He had the whole song, I just did the hook of that one, and I started freestyling and then he looked at me, he says what’s that then he told him to go to the studio and I did everything in one

take.”
