Rema’s Hit Track ‘Calm Down’ Bags 2 Nominations In France.

Rema, the talented Nigerian singer whose real name is Divine Ikubor, has achieved yet another significant milestone in France with his hit song "Calm Down" receiving a double diamond certification. The popularity of Nigerian music is increasing, resulting in more international certifications for Afrobeats songs. Rema's "Calm Down" is dominating in France, while the global hit song has moved into the double diamond stage.

"Calm Down" was released in February 2022 as the lead single off Rema's self-titled debut album. The song's remix, which featured American pop star Selena Gomez, has also become a popular export in the Afrobeats genre. The record has already been certified diamond by SNEP, France's national music certification body, with over 500,000 sales, earning it the status of double diamond.

The song has also been certified in Switzerland, Italy, and the United Kingdom, and has earned an RIAA platinum plaque, making it one of the best-selling Afrobeats tracks in the United States. "Calm Down" has also made history by becoming the highest-charting African song on the Billboard Hot 100, reaching a peak position of No. 8, surpassing Wizkid's "Essence" remix featuring Tems & Justin Bieber, which reached No. 9.

With over 427 million views, the music video for "Calm Down" is the most-watched Afrobeats music video on YouTube, and both the remix and the original version of the song have received over 2 billion streams across all platforms.
