Truth!! Veteran Actor Set To Face Disciplinary Panel
Veteran actor, Olaiya Igwe , has been summoned by Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners of Nigeria (TAMPAN), to face disciplinary panel over his immoral video for his public support to Tinubu.
Recall that recently Olaiya Igwe trended on social media for the unclad video of himself by the sea side, declaring support for the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu. This immoral action nonetheless greeted several unfriendly and fiery criticism by many Nigerians because they found it disgusting.
In reaction to Olaiya's uncalled- for manner, the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners of Nigeria (TAMPAN), has summoned him the to face a disciplinary panel to explain reasons for his actions.
However, the summon of the actor was confirmed by one of TAMPAN’ executives, Actress Rose Odika, who made this known to Sunday Scoop.
Rose stated that even though the actor has the right to support whoever he wants to, but his actions has no moral justification. He has thus been summoned before the disciplinary committee even though he is yet to show up before the committee.
In Rose Odika‘s words: “He has the right to support whoever he wants to, but we have the moral justification angle. We are looking at the morality behind that advert (video). It is not about who he is supporting. It is about him breaching the code of ethics (of our association and industry.”
While reacting to the summon, Olaiya told correspondents of Sunday Scoop that he is not aware of such summon.
His words: “I don’t know who discussed that with you. I did not hear anything about that. God bless you.”
