Reactions trail Headies Awards disqualification case on Portable
After organisers of the Headies Awards disqualified Portable over death threats. Several reactions trail the mandate. The organisers alleged that their decision was based over incessant negative attention and threats to kill fellow nominees as quoted by Portable.
The official statement had read; “The decision to disqualify Mr. Okikiola is accentuated by series of misdemeanours by Mr. Okikiola via his social media platforms. On the 25th of May 2022, he threatened to kill, harm or cause harm to the other nominees in the same categories of the awards he was nominated for, if he does not emerge the winner,” it added.
The organisers also expressed displeasure over a video published by the ‘Za Zu Zeh’ crooner, claiming affiliation with the dreaded robbery gang known as ‘1 Million boys’.
Meanwhile, the controversial street hop singer has reacted to his disqualification from the awards. He said he was not remorse over his claims to hurt anyone.
