Veteran Actor, Elder Maya Announced Dead After Battling Liver Disease

Nollywood veteran actor, Martins Njubuigbo popularly known as Elder Maya has been reported dead after a long battle with liver disease.

His son and fellow actor, Yomi Fabiyi shared the sad news and confirmed his demise on social media.

Fabiyi captioned: “RIP Elder Mayah. You were a veteran and a hard working one at that. Journey well papa. My concerns and sympathy with his families and close colleagues.#SAVENIGERIAMOVIEINDUSTRY..”

However, reports had it that Elder Maya, who is arguably the longest surviving Nigerian actor, was down with a liver-related problem as the actor was down with a swollen leg, which caused him pain.

The late actor, fondly called Papa Labista, who is popular for his village chief priest's roles in movies, was diagnosed with liver disease at an undisclosed hospital in Lagos State. This was disclosed by his fellow colleague, actor Ernest Obi, through his Instagram account.
