Nollywood actress and producer, Omoni Oboli is currently under attack after a Canadian-based Nigerian writer, Jude Idada accused her of copying his script for her new film, “Okafor's Law” which is due to make its world debut on September 12, at the on-going Toronto International Film Festival, TIFF. In a recent audio-interview with an online publication, TNS, Jude alleged that Omoni's 2014 'Being Mrs Elliot' was also an idea she lifted directly from him without giving him due credit.

According to Jude, he sent Omoni the first 50 scenes but the actress later changed her mind, saying she has found a better script only for him to watch his own movie's premiere in Paris in 2014.

On ‘Okafor's Law', Jude explained that despite the contrac t he signed with Omoni and her husband, Nnamdi, the couple did not to pay him the agreed N750,000 or even give him credit in the movie.

Jude, however, said he would not take a legal action against the actress as he doesn't want to taint her record. He only wants Nigerians to hear his own side of the story.

Meanwhile, reacting to the allegation, film maker and CEO/founder of E4 PR, Egor Efiok has blasted Omoni Oboli, declaring to stand with Jude on the matter.

Reacting on her Facebook page, Egor wrote, “I stand with Jude Idada a million percent on this. He is one of the few Nigerian “unsung heroes” when it comes to thorough scriptwriting and directing. His storytelling will literally hold you spellbound; I couldn't resist collaborating with him on a couple of projects. You have no right to plagiarise his scripts or anyone else's for that matter and then go ahead to make yourself famous with them without giving him any acknowledgement. That is evil and selfish. You underestimate a very intelligent man who knows how to invoke the full dose of “Okafor's Law” (pun intended) on you and ensure that “Mrs Elliott” (pun intended again) is duly divorced.”
