Timi Dakolo Disgraced for Turning Down Presidential Invitaion to Perform in Ogoni Land
Some few days ago, the Federal Government of Nigeria flagged off the cleaning of Ogoni land and these attracted lots guest far and wide who have applauded the idea after several decades of various governments ignoring the community over Oil spillage.
During the ground breaking occasion, Environment Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Amina J Mohammed, had invited singer, Timi Dakolo, to come perform but he turned down the invitation.
The singer seems not to given an explanation on why he did not accept the invitation to come perform as the Minister came calling on the singer whose song would have inspired and put hopes on many faces in the community.
According to the Minister, “A big thank you to all who contributed to the success of Ogoni cleanup launch. I only wish Timi Dakolo accepted our invitation to perform.”
Timi has always been one lucky singer who has been gracing top federal government events but with his recent turning down of the government invite it shows that he may have lost hope with the way the present government is running the affairs of the country.
