Breaking News: Hannah Awolowo Is Dead
Hannah Idowu Dideolu Awolowo, the wife of one of Nigeria's most respected politicians, Obafemi Awolowo died earlier today. Mrs. Awolowo, who was 99 years old, achieved great fame and respect as a confidante of her late husband and custodian of his tremendous political and cultural legacy.
Saharareporters learnt that the matriarch of the Awolowo family died in her sleep in her country home of Ikenne in Ogun state. Mrs. Awolowo's grand daughter is the wife of Nigeria's current Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo.
