Eagles Call-up Excites Wolverhampton Goalie, Carl Iheme
Recently invited Wolverhampton FC of England goalkeeper, Carl Iheme, has expressed delight over the opportunity given to him by the Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, to participate in Nigeria's game against Tanzania this Saturday.
Iheme claimed his dream has always been to play for his fatherland, Nigeria, and said he would grab this opportunity to serve Nigeria diligently.
The 29-year-old was named in the squad for the AFCON qualifier.
According to the player, “I'm very excited to be involved in my first Nigeria squad! Thank you for all your kind messages and support.”
Ikeme, whose father was born in Nigeria, will now compete for the number shirt with the Eagles captain, Vincent Enyeama.
About a month ago, Iheme was quoted as saying, "My dad was born there and a lot of my family are still in Nigeria, so it would mean something to myself and my whole family."
