One of the wishes of an artiste is to get the highest recognition in his profession. When it comes to music, the Grammy is the biggest achievement and regrettably, no Nigerian has won the covet award. The nearest is being nominated for it.

The pursuit for it has intensified and young Nigerian artistes have expressed their desire to win the coveted award someday. Artistes such as 9ice, Olamide and others have revealed their dream to hold the award as winners.

Dare Art Alade and Sound Sultan have joined the pack and Dare Art Alade shared his experience holding the award.

He said, "After holding this Grammy in my hand, ehn...Na to tap the anointing oh." and Sound Sultan replied that he would tap the anointing three times.

Femi Anikulapo-Kuti, Wale, King Sunny Ade are some of the Nigerians who have actually been nominated at The Grammys since its inception on May 4th, 1959.
