Charles Novia Questions 'Buhari Traveller' Trip
Controversial filmmaker, Charles Novia, has given his view on the claim by Suleiman Hashim that he trekked from Lagos to Abuja in about 19 days.
Suleiman, now nicknamed 'Buhari Traveller', had promised to walk from Lagos to Abuja if candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari, wins the presidential election on March 28, 2015.
Buhari won the election and Suleiman embarked on his journey. He arrived Abuja on Monday and got a rousing welcome from residents of the city.
But Charles Novia raised some questions about the said feat. He maintained that the 33-year-old man could not have completed the journey on foot in that number of days he claimed he finished the trip.
He asked, "Did the young man who trekked not hitch a ride or cab somewhere along the journey? It could not have been all on foot! In 19 days? Haba!
"(The) Distance from Lag to Abuja: about 778km. Trekking by foot entails covering 38.9km daily X 20 days. No sleep, no rest. How did he do it? Na wash."
