Prof. Osinbajo Shoots: President Jonathan Can Not Define ‘Simple’ Corruption
The vice president aspirant of All Progressive Congress, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has questioned the academic prowess of the president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan during his Wednesday 11, February, media chat. The president was clarifying the statement he made some time ago about corruption.
Jonathan quoted a former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Dahiru Mustafa's definition of corruption in the Nigerian context as the misappropriation of theft for corruption. Jonathan berated the minimal effect of 'stealing'.
"Ole (thief in Yoruba) should be called Ole and given that treatment. Let us communicate properly. The word corruption, we have abused it." GEJ said.
Prof. Osinbajo replied the president, “Corruption is defined as 'dishonest or fraudulent conduct by those in power, typically involving bribery”. The definition is simple and we all know what it it, yet Mr. President has spent the last several minutes of his media chat explaining to Nigerians what it is, suggesting we are all somehow confused about this.
The GEJ presidency has failed Nigerians. The facts are undeniable.”
