Kate Henshaws AMAA Dress Auctioned For 2,000 Pounds

The party held on July 6, 2008 in honour of Kate Henshaw for emerging winner of African Movie Academic Awards (AMAA)2008 was full of surprising delights for her. Not only was she highly eulogised by friends and fans, the cloth she wore during the 2007 AMAA awards was bought for 2, 000 pounds by Dickson Iruegbu of the Project Alert Rose of Sharon organisation. The bid, which started with N100,000 by Isaac Moses, was raised to N150,000 by Ali Baba who was certain that he already had the offer until Mr. Dickson rose up on his three legs (walking stick inclusive), shook his dreadlocks and said, '2,000 Pounds!' Ali Baba blinked in amazement while the compere, MC Abbey, stood with his mouth agape. MC Abbey first recovered and was quick to ask "is it in cash or in cheque?" The cynical remark now brought the daredevil himself out to the open stage where he stood and boldly declared his love for Kate. "It's a pity that artistes are not recognised and valued in Nigeria. Kate, your cloth is worth more than 2,000 pounds, the money's nothing; were is my wife let her come and collect the cloth?" The statement brought the obviously fascinated MC back to earth and up on his feet running to Kate for help. He did not even know the gentleman's name, and had to ask Kate for help. Feeling beaten but announcing in his usual comic manner, Ali Baba declared that he was leaving.
