GOSPEL ARTISTES AT WAR
Crisis is currently rocking the Gospel Musicians Associations of Nigeria (GOMAN), as the elders in-council of the association have passed a vote of no confidence on the National President, Lady Evangelist Bola Are, over a recent election in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.
P.M.Entertainment learnt that the decision was taken at a peace meeting held by the elders and a parallel body of Kingdom Singers CMAN in Ibadan, where they unanimously passed a vote of no confidence on the leadership style of the gospel singer.
P.M.Entertainment gathered that those present at the forum are Pastor S.O. Akinpelu, Rev. King Solomon Okunola, Lady Evangelist Funmi Aragbaye, Mrs. Victoria Aloba Omodudu, Pastor Timi Osukoya, Evangelist Remi Aduloju and Evangelist Akin Adebayo, among others.
Rev. Solomon Okunola who co-chaired the meeting, said the election of GOMAN held February was a sham, and the chairmanship election which was ordered to be recounted for transparency, was overruled by Bola Are.
Okunola said there were allegations of bribery and other kinds of vices during the election and despite the presence of some elders, Evangelist Bola Are stood her ground.
Also, the General Secretary of PMAN, Idowu Blessing, who was present at the venue of the election, was said to have complained about the leadership style of Bola Are.
In a telephone chat, Bola Are said although she heard about the meeting, “I am just hearing that such decision was taken, but I am still the president of GOMAN.”
