A musician at Agege, Hassan Salawu, 30, is currently explaining all he knows about the death of his girlfriend, Mary, who allegedly died after marathon sex, to detectives at the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos.

The suspect, who is being interrogated at the SCID, was arrested after he went to report the death at Area 'F' Police Divisional Headquarters, Ikeja.

Our investigations revealed that the deceased went to the home of the suspect at Agege to spend the weekend with him and after a bout of sex, she started feeling pains in her stomach.

She was immediately rushed to Maryam Specialist Hospital, Agege, where she was diagnosed as being short of blood. She was asked to go for scanning but died later at the scanning centre.

In his statement to the police, the suspect disclosed that he took the corpse of the lady back to the hospital after she was certified dead by technologists at the scanning centre.

“After taking her remains to the hospital, I rushed to Area 'F' Police Station to report the death. I was then arrested and detained. They later transferred me to SCID, Panti for interrogation,” .

On what actually went wrong, Salawu said: “I am a well-known musician in Agege and I don't know how to explain the death. I don't know what happened. I love her so much that I was planning to marry her.

“She had agreed to be my wife before her death. She was such a nice girl. I don't understand the mystery behind her death. If I were involved in her death or had anything to hide, I wouldn't have gone to report the matter at the police station,” he explained further.

Sources at Panti revealed to us that the police are trying to unravel the circumstances surrounding her death, adding that an autopsy was yet to be conducted on the corpse to ascertain the cause of death.
