"I'm Hardworking Not Because Of The Money, But My Fans" - Davido On Why He Regrets Working Hard
Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that he regrets working hard, despite being from a rich background.
Explaining the reason for his regret, the "Feel" crooner stated that the efforts he puts into music leaves him stressed mentally, and makes him drained.
Speaking during an interview with music executive Bankulli after his sold-out show at the Scotiabank Arena, Toronto, Canada, on Saturday night, Davido noted that the main reason for his hard work and dedication to his craft is because of his love for his fans, stating that he can decide to stop music today, and he still has a lot of money waiting for him.
He said:
"I regret to myself for being hardworking. The stress and mental ability that goes into this type of work, especially with a lot of odds against me, is draining me. But I have to do it. It’s not for the money, I have billions of dollars waiting for me. Even if I don’t work again in my life, I have billions of dollars. But I’m working because I love my fans."
