HOW ANOTHER STAR ACTOR, ALARAN DIED

Less than a week after the death of top movie producer and actor, Alhaji Ajileye of Koto Orun fame, another top movie star, Muftau Aladokun a.k.a. Alaran is dead. Investigations revealed that Aladokun died on Saturday at about 11.p.m. in Oyo, Oyo State after a brief illness. P.M.NEWS gathered that Alaran took ill a few months ago and was taken to his home town, Oyo, in Oyo State and he was said to have been recuperating when the ailment suddenly worsened last Thursday. He was taken to a hospital where he died. The late Alaran, known for providing unique comic relief in movies, was buried yesterday in his home town according to Muslim rites.

Until his death, the late Muftau Aladokun, 46, was a member of Fadeyi Caucus of movie producers comprising Jide Kosoko, Rammy Shita-Bey, Adewale Elesho, Pa Kasumu, Otolo, Ojoge, Lekunson and others. He had one wife and four children among whom are Deji, Doyin and two others. Reacting to his death, star actor Deji Adenuga, described his death as shocking. “We were yet to get over the death of J.T. Tom West and Baba Ajiyele died. Yet, we are witnessing the death of Alaran. We pray to God to give those who are alive a good health to enjoy the fruit of our labour.”

Also, Yomi Fash Lanso said that the death of Alaran is very painful. “When death comes knocking, there is nothing we can do about it. It is just that we are popular that is why the attention is being focused on us when there is a problem.” An actress, Seyi Fiye, described the death of Alaran as “very painful. Death is a necessary end it will come when it will come.” Alhaji Rammy Shita-Bey, the former Governor of Lagos Zone of ANTP, said: “We didn't expect him to die at this point. If our own Baba Alagbo (meaning herb seller) can die, who else is safe?”
