We're happy to announce that MTV base VJ Cynthia Okpala has just got engaged to her friend and partner Ozoemena Mbanefo, with plans to exchange vows before year-end.

Okpala, who won the MTV base VJ search in 2007 has been dating Mbanefo for a while – before he proposed on June 12 during a group church outing.

'We have our pastors' blessings already and we're already working towards a date,' said Cynthia who's getting ready to tape her new MTV base show, MTV base.IQ Sweetened By Buttermint later in the month. The bubbly bride-to-be will be back on our TV screens on DStv, STV and AIT from August 2010.

No date has been fixed for the wedding, 'but it will happen before the end of the year' says Cynthia.
