Damilola Adegbite Urges More Positive Stories About Love And Marriage
Nollywood actress Damilola Adegbite has made a case for sharing more uplifting narratives about relationships and marriages.
In a video posted on her Instagram page, she expressed her belief that enduring love still exists, despite the many negative stories of betrayal and heartbreak that dominate conversations.
She asked her followers if anyone still believes in love and whether she was dreaming of a fantasy. She also invited people to share experiences of partners who have been genuine blessings behind the scenes, helping them become better versions of themselves.
Adegbite called for a shift in focus, urging that stories of relationships and marriages that bring peace, growth, and purpose should be normalised.
She said:
"Today, I am feeling some type of way. Is there anyone who still believes in love? Besides the horror and terrible stories that we keep hearing; disappointments in marriages, betrayals, and heartbreak.
I still believe that long-lasting relationships can exist. I feel like I don't want to be alone; am I dreaming of La La Land?
Does anyone have a partner who has been a genuine blessing? I'm not talking about being in front of the camera; in private, you are something else. I am talking about behind the scenes; your partner has made you a much better version of yourself.
Let's normalise sharing stories of relationships and marriages that bring peace, growth, and purpose too."
