"That Is My Greatest Fear" – Davido Opens Up About Knowing When To Quit Music
Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has opened up about his greatest fear, revealing that he is terrified of not knowing when to step away from music.
In a video broadcast, the singer expressed his concerns about falling out of grace like many celebrities before him.
Davido shared that he would build a therapy centre for people who were once popular and successful, noting how crazy it is to be on top of the world and then suddenly not. He referenced his friend and Portugal star, Cristiano Ronaldo, pointing out that despite all his achievements in football, people still laughed at him when he exited the World Cup.
The singer stated that he prays every day for God to show him the right time to quit, as he does not want to spoil all he has worked so hard to build.
He said:
"If there is one thing I could build, I would build a therapy centre for people who were popular and very successful people. Because it is crazy to be on top of the world and the next moment you are not.
"Even in soccer, you win World Cup, Champions League and other trophies and people still don't think it is enough. For instance, look at my good friend Ronaldo – after everything he's done for football, they still laughed at him for exiting the World Cup.
"That is my greatest fear. I have worked so hard for me to come and spoil it with something. I pray to God every day to show me the right time to pack it up."
