Nigerian Zion Gospel musician Lekan Remilekun has shared the heartbreaking story of his father's disappearance, which has now lasted 26 years.

Speaking on the Talk to B podcast, the singer recounted how his father, Remilekun Amos, a well-known gospel artist, vanished after traveling for a ministry engagement.

According to Remilekun, his father was invited to Akure, Ondo State, in November 2000 for a missionary assignment. He revealed that it was the last time anyone saw or heard from him. The singer expressed the deep pain of not knowing his father's fate, adding that even his children now ask about their grandfather.

He said:

"My father, Remilekun Amos, was declared missing when he went for that missionary journey in November 2000, and that was the end.

"He was invited to Akure. A Yoruba proverb says 'omo eni ku, o San ju omo eni sonu lo' meaning (a dead child is better than a missing or lost child). 26 years counting now. My children are asking me to tell them about grandpa. No one can feel the pain more than the victim, which is me."
